General
Name: Aras Duval
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Species: Hunter
Family: N/A
Appearance
Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Blond, often dyed brown; slightly past ear-length
Height: 5’10”
Build: Athletic, but overall average build
Scars/Markings/Tattoos: Aras has a scar on his left foot from dropping a kitchen knife several years before. His siblings constantly tease him about he can use a hunting knife, but those kitchen knives are just too much for him to handle.
Predominant Feature: Almost always seems to have a faint smile
Skin Quality: Fairly tan
General Appearance: At first glance, there is nothing particularly striking about Aras. He is of average height with an athletic build, and his past ear-length brown hair and hazel eyes are nothing special. However, upon further observation, one may notice his faint smile and atypically confident air. Though he appears relaxed, one adept at reading body language might realize that he is constantly on his guard, as a well-trained Hunter should be.
Aras’ hair is not naturally brown – he knows that blond hair is hardly inconspicuous in a forest, so he dyes it to provide further camouflage for himself. As far as wardrobe goes, he is usually seen wearing something plain and comfortable that allows great freedom of movement. He has the habit of carrying Hunters’ equipment with him wherever he goes, even when not on an official assignment.
Animal
Species: N/A
Unnatural Attributes: N/A
General Appearance: N/A
Personality
Likes: People (most of the time), honesty, practicing at the shooting range, coffee
Dislikes: Petty arguments, black-and-white perceptions of the world, idleness, traveling by water, the cold
Influences: His family
Goals: He doesn’t really have any at the moment; right now, he’s just waiting to see where life takes him
Strengths: Excels in hand-to-hand combat, proficient marksman, tracking abilities, can use a compound bow, levelheaded
Flaws: Impulsive, tendency to avoid making decisions until the last minute, inexperienced, too quick to trust
Habits: Having a cup of coffee every day, carrying a weapon (usually a pistol or knife) at all times
General Personality:
Composed and self-possessed, very little appears to perturb Aras. He gets along well with most people and generally feels comfortable in social situations. His tolerant and non-judgmental nature allows others to find it easy to talk to him. However, his laid-back personality does not mean he is a pushover; he is more than capable of defending himself if threatened.
He can keep a cool head in nearly any situation and is not easily provoked into unnecessary fights. He prefers to avoid a confrontation, if possible; if he has no choice, he tries to end it as quickly as he can. Aras does, however, have an impulsive side; sometimes, while reflecting on a previous action, he wonders why he ever chose to do such a thing at such a moment. He also deliberately puts off decision-making until the last minute, which can cause much needless trouble for everyone involved. Willing to admit his mistakes, he is responsible enough to take the consequences of his actions. He dislikes putting blame on others unless they are undoubtedly guilty.
He prefers to keep his opinions, especially those on controversial topics, to himself, and he tries to keep an open mind. Though he may not agree with all aspects of a certain course of action, he will often just go along with it to spare himself and others the trouble that would arise if he objected.
Despite all that has been going on, he often comes off as a bit naïve. Compared to many others, he has led a fairly happy life. While not ignorant of the world’s troubles, Aras has the tendency to take his relatively peaceful childhood for granted. His general lack of experience comes as a disadvantage. He tends toward a more optimistic view of human character and can therefore be too quick to trust.

Background
General History:
Aras was born and raised in a well-known Hunter family. He did fairly well in public school, but he had always known that he would begin work as a Hunter as soon as he graduated from high school. While he did entertain thoughts of taking a less dangerous occupation, he had no great objections to following in his parents’ and siblings’ footsteps.
Since he was the youngest of the family, Aras’ brothers and sister acted as his mentors during training. He began learning hand-to-hand combat and tracking at an early age; later on, he was taught to handle firearms and knives, as well as a compound bow (which makes substantially less noise than a gun, thereby increasing stealth). An incident once occurred where he dropped a knife on his own foot while helping his mother in the kitchen; his siblings teased him relentlessly about this afterwards, saying that while he was fine with a hunting knife, a kitchen knife was clearly too dangerous for him. Aras made a point to be careful around bladed objects in the future.
His parents took him on his first hunt at age fifteen. At age eighteen, he was judged responsible and skilled enough to work by himself. Personally, Aras did not exactly enjoy hunting shifters, per se, but a family legacy was a family legacy. The Duvals took pride in the job they had done for generations. For the most part, Aras carries out his duties efficiently and effectively for someone with only a few years of experience.
